No complacency from the Lions

Will the Lions wear the Super Rugby logo once more?

Lions centre Dylan des Fountain has urged his team-mates that they cannot rest on their laurels ahead of the second leg of their promotion-relegation play-off against the Kings.

The Lions welcome the Kings to Johannesburg having secured a 26-19 first leg victory and with the knowledge that Alan Solomons men will be without star fly-half Demetri Catrakilis.

While the odds may appear to be piling up in their favour, Des Fountain knows that complacency could prove costly.

"The Southern Kings will come with everything for us, and we know it," he told the Beeld.

"It wasn't easy in Port Elizabeth. We pulled through, but we face a massive challenge here at our home ground as well.

"We cannot be overconfident and we see it as an unbelievably big match which will get very physical."

The 28-year-old was a standout performer last Friday and is looking to be involved even more on Saturday.

"For me it's nice at the Lions - we are allowed to play rugby with a free will," he said.

"The field was wet in PE (last week) and we couldn't always give the ball as much air as we'd have liked. Hopefully we can get the ball though the hands on Saturday."
