According to a report in New Zealand, fly-half Dan Carter could return to his birthplace during his rugby sabbatical, playing for club outfit Southbridge.
Newstalk ZB are quoted as saying that the All Blacks pivot, who spent his first sabbatical at Perpignan, may choose to remain at home.
Carter will take time away from Super Rugby in order to be fresh for the 2015 Rugby World Cup and Newstalk's sources believe a full campaign with Southbridge might well be on the cards.
The 31-year-old's wife Honor recently gave birth to their first child Marco James, while Crusader Carter has business interests in New Zealand.
Carter played for Southbridge from the age of 5.
