Hurricanes lock Jason Eaton has confirmed that he will be joining Japanese outfit NTT Shining Arcs at the end of the Super Rugby season.

The 14-cap All Black will skip Taranaki's NPC campaign in order to play six months of rugby in Japan. Eaton would not comment on whether he would be returning to the Hurricanes at the end of his stint abroad.

The move comes after a frustrating period for Eaton in which he has fallen down the pecking order with the Wellington franchise, with Jeremy Thrush and James Broadhurst the first choice combination and Blade Thomson warming the bench.
