Scott Fardy: Starts at lock

Brumbies boss Jake White has made two changes to his starting XV for Saturday's clash with the Waratahs in Sydney.

White has bolstered his tight five, promoting Scott Fardy and Scott Sio to starting positions.

Fardy has been out of action for almost a month, after sustaining an ankle injury, but has made a full recovery and returns to the second row alongside Sam Carter, with Peter Kimlin moving back to blindside flanker and Fotu Auelua to the bench.

"They have been playing some great footy and have some big powerful locks, so we'll just have to stick to our strengths," Fardy said of the Waratahs.

"I don't want to reveal too much, but we'll work on our low tackles and our work rate is pretty high."

Sio starts at loosehead prop at the expense of tighthead Dan Palmer, with Ben Alexander returning to his preferred position in the number three jersey.

White said the Brumbies wouldn't lose any impact with the loss of Palmer, who is being rested from the matchday 22 for precautionary reasons due to a foot niggle.

"We played against the Sharks, [Sio] started, we got the four-try bonus point and then he started against the Force and we got the four-try bonus point," White said.

"He definitely adds something to our pack."
