Neville: Commits to Rebels cause

Rebels locks Cadeyrn Neville and Hugh Pyle have re-signed with the Melbourne-based Super Rugby side for another two years.

Neville, who was voted Rookie of the Year in 2012, was included in the extended Wallabies training squad last season after just a handful of Super Rugby games and toured Europe without winning any caps.

Standing 2.02m tall and weighing in at 120kgs, Neville has mostly warmed the Rebels bench this season but has forced his way back into the starting line-up.

Despite the struggling Rebels only managing two wins from eight matches thus far in 2013, Neville admitted he held talks with other franchises but didn't seriously contemplate playing elsewhere.

"I had discussions with some others but I kept them at arms lengths mostly," said the 24-year-old lock. "Before anything was on the table the outcome I wanted was to stay here at the Rebels."

Pyle, meanwhile, is now in his third year of Super Rugby and the flamboyant lock has established himself as one of Australia's most elusive and dynamic forwards.

As he did last year, 24-year-old Pyle has played every match for the Rebels so far this season and has blossomed into a young leader having been named vice captain.
