Bryan Habana Stormers 2013

Early recovery: Bryan Habana

Springboks Bryan Habana and Eben Etzebeth are expected to be fit for the Stormers' Super Rugby tour of Australasia later this month.

There had been fears that Habana, who will join Toulon at the end of the season, had played his last game in a Stormers jersey after sustaining a serious knee ligament injury in the victory over the Chiefs last month.

But a Stormers injury update on Monday listed the Springbok will be amongst those expected to be on the fight to Wellington, where the Cape Town side will start their tour against the Hurricanes on April 26.

Likewise, Etzebeth should be back in time for the tour after tearing ligaments in his left ankle in a pre-season game against Boland.

Bad news for Stormers fans, however, is that flank Rynhardt Elstadt (shoulder) is not available for this weekend's clash with the Cheetahs. He will be re-assessed next week.

Wing Gerhard van den Heever (knee) is also not available for this weekend's match. Stormers coach Allister Coetzee revealed on Monday that he will be out for a minimum of two weeks after the past weekend's 14-19 defeat to the Crusaders.

Fly-half Elton Jantjies (chest) sat out training on Monday but will return to training later in the week. He will be up for selection for the trip to Bloemfontein.

Flank cum lock Don Armand (intercostal rib muscle injury) is doubtful while prop Pat Cilliers (hand/forearm) has been cleared and will be able to take his place in the Stormers side.

Forward Michael Rhodes (hamstring) is up to speed and will come into contention for the Cheetahs match, as is loosehead prop Steven Kitshoff who rejoined the team after spending a week on the sidelines due to suspension.

Western Province Vodacom Cup players Gary van Aswegen, Marcel Brache, Ederies Arendse, Pat Howard and Tim Swiel all joined Stormers training on Monday.

Hooker Scarra Ntubeni (shoulder) will also be fit for the Stormers' tour of Australasia later this month.
