The Chiefs have been forced to call up a replacement hooker and a prop for Friday's Super Rugby hit-out against the Kings in Port Elizabeth.
Coach Dave Rennie has confirmed Mahonri Schwalger is heading back to New Zealand along with Ben Tameifuna.
Schwalger's knee hasn't recovered well from last weekend's clash with the Stormers, while Tameifuna is returning home due to a family bereavement.
Hooker Rhys Marshall, who impressed in his outings against the Highlanders and the Cheetahs, will replace Schwalger while the uncapped Michael Kaianga will also join the Chiefs squad for the match at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.

Rhys Marshall has been the best hooker this season so far anyway - the lineout worked when he played.

Oh dear! No! Surely not! With these kind of injuries I should take a leaf out of Trinuts book and start moaning and suggesting my team is not doing well with these injuries. But no I will leave the moaning to trinuts who always has some excuse for his side. Including all the naughty boys who seem to have their problems when having a night out.
