@ ArmchairGeneral - a cool, still, dry West-Country zoider; or a fine glass of robust, full-bodied red wine for me. That roo-p!$$ the Aussies serve in thimble-sized "pots" is just for those who think Alice Springs is an actual city..!

@ Trader2 - I always played in the back-row - it was much safer. Any bulk that there used to be across my shoulders has successfully slumped to form a rather comfortable swelling around my midriff. Not sure even I'd make the Aussie front row!

Poor Waratahs, even the Sydney MH taking shots at them:

'The Waratahs awards night looms. After a dreadful season, and Foley, team manager Chris Webb and chairman Eddie Zemancheff having departed, some believe it could be the shortest awards function in the history of the code. What are they going to serve? Two-minute noodles?'

and Jake White has a very clear message for Benn Robinson and his ideas of players having a role in selecting their coach - ''I'd say just focus on being a player, Benn, and concentrate on the things that you need to concentrate on''. He goes on the mention it's like an employee getting choose the new CEO - it doesn't happen.

And lastly, are Waratahs the franchise who has defrauded the salary cap in 2012 by channeling cash direct to an unnamed senior player? They issued a 'no comment' rather than a denial.

Heh @APV1 you sound perfect for the Wannabie front row - you lived in Oz just tell them you are a Kiwi and you will be in.

@APV1 "more couching than coaching. I'm fat, unfit and have a penchant for red wine. Good enough..?" Sounds perfect to me. You'll fit right in with all the boys from Penriff.

@The TruthHurts, on a serious note, very true. The players should have zero say in who the coach is. This is a classic problem we have introduced into the business world with staff dictating who their management should be, it undermines the fundamental purpose of having management structures in place. Unfortunately we have buried common sense to make way for political correctness.

I just the the Tahs board puts an end to this quick smart.

@ Headhunter99 - only good thing about "Aussie funny money"..? It's plastic so it can be put through the washing machine unharmed. It brings a new perspective to money laundering...

@ passtheball - not yet. But I'm sure when they interview me, I'll get to know them - I'm a quick learner.

I've lived in Melbourne and Cairns and visited NSW a few times (I remember a rather good dirty weekend in the Blue Mountains with my girlfriend of the time. *sighs wistfully*). I played rugby (badly) at a very low level and more couching than coaching. I'm fat, unfit and have a penchant for red wine. Good enough..?

Although most comments are about fun and games, the serious side of the entire culture from the top echelon down needs to be changed and the arrogance needs to make way for common sense and a hard working ethos... NO the players should not have a say, the best man for the job needs to selected by criteria not favoritism?

Players want to be involved in the coach's recruitment !! ---- maybe the clue for their underachievement is right there and maybe that's why coaches want out - even going to Perth where there are fewer top quality players.

APV1 - do you know any of the Waratahs - it might be a help?

And this is the Posers problem in a nutshell - the players want to say who the new coach will be, what a joke, they should get on with learning their craft and stop reading the early season Sydney press telling them how great they are

@APV1 - Send me your CV and I"ll put it up to them -)) only thing is don't want my fee in Aussie funny money. Whats the profile for an Aussie coach ? Not a lot of intellect for sure and the ability to finish most words with eithe er (backrower) or ie (footie/loosie) actually someone from Baaaaath might fit right in.
