Starts in February, finishes in August. I won't be watching every game, in fact I'll comfortably skip entire weekends, for this is too much rugby for this little wombat.

@hybrid187

I think the word you're missing is "best". They were the most exciting but they were also the best.

Seems my original post didnt pass PRs standards which is fair enough I guess...

Basically, Trinats, at what point was I coming up with excuses ? Huh ? I openly acknowledge the Reds were the most exciting team in the comp. This wasnt even my point !?!?

All Im trying to say is the comp would be better if ALL teams played eachother.. would it not be ? Would it not make sense... ? No need to be so defensive...

Typical one-eyed Larry comment as Ive come to expect from reading all the **** you post Trinats.

You should join the Fox Sports commentary team, youd fit right in next to Marto and Kearnsey, the worst commentators in world sport, and trust me, I watch ALOT of sport aside from rugby.

From what part of my comment did you derive 'kiwi whinging' ?? What was I taking away from the Reds ??? In fact I fully acknowledge they were the most exciting team to watch, but this is far from the point I was trying to make anyway.

All I was saying is that it would be alot better if all teams played eachother. Would it not?

Got to agree with you HYBRID if you dont play all the teams at least once its an invald championship lets face it the aussie group is far weaker than the NZ or SA ones atm .The rugby may be good to watch but i hate the new format very biased to OZ teams atm

Invalid tournament. Cant take it seriously yet again. Pathetic.

goy 'n' dave,

For non-World Cup years, each Tri Nations team played six matches over a course of nine weeks. No reason the Four Nations cannot work around that basis, even allowing for long-distance travel. I assume, as in past Tri Nations tournaments, it isn't beyond a team to play three matches in a row.

The Stormers are going to win the Super 15!! As awful as their schedule was this year, that's how AMAZING it is next year..!

Their first two games are against the Hurricanes and Sharks at Newlands, then they have a bye. This is a perfect way to start your season: two home games against opponents who'll test you, but who you should beat - and then re-group. Phase 1 completed.

Phase 2 is basically 3 games in SA to prepare for tour, and then their tour. They play a home game vs. the Blues (who will be a tough next year), before playing their first away game vs. the Lions and then another home game, vs. the Bulls (who will be without Matfield, Bakkies, Rossouw and Du Preez). They should win all of these games as well, so it is very likely that they'll go on tour undefeated...

They have a tough tour, but since they have always been the SA team that travelled the best, I am not concerned about that. Their first game is vs. Highlanders. They then face the Crusaders - but the Crusaders play the Bulls in SA the week before, so they are the ones who then have to travel to NZ where the Stormers will be waiting for them... so a bit of a role reversal! After that the Stormers have to face the Reds and Force before heading home. So tough tour, but they should be able to win at least 2... and then they have a perfectly timed bye!

So in week 12, fresh and ready, with only about two losses and their tour behind them, they start a 7 week race to the end. And they start with two home games: vs. the Cheetahs and Waratahs. They then have their away games vs. the Sharks and Bulls, before returning to Newlands for the Lions. They should win all of these games. But just in case they are in a position where they need a couple of bonus points to stay at the top, their last two games are against the Cheetahs (away) and Rebels (home)!

Home Semi AND Final. STORMERS!!

i suspect it will be a bit like the old 4 nations just 1 match done on a rotating home /away basis one year at home next away becuse of the traval involved with a break as per 6N of a week halfway thru the comp cant see it working with 2 matches per team a year (home/away)as it would be way to long but we will see. Also remember the IRB wants to incorparate Canada and USA into the 1st tier nations playing schedual and the major NH teams want to return to proper tours to the SH countries atm only the SH teams can do tours because the major NH nations are very close to eachother well for 3 its the same country lol

It's not about the Reds, it will be about who does and doesn't have to play the Crusaders. I wonder if they will throw the Crusaders a bone this year and let them play the Lions and Rebels. Worst format in a tournament ever.

so they're going to persist with this silly, over-long format. this is inevitably going to have a negative impact on the new four nations next year. on that note, can someone please suggest what the structure of the 4-nations will be? obviously they will return to the sensible home and away format, but does that mean each team will be playing every weekend? (i.e. arg v nz, sa v aus) if so, it will last a minimum six weeks. however, presumably none of the teams will want that as at least one week's rest is needed to avoid burnout. but in that case (if each team gets at least one rest weekend), the tournament will extend well beyond eight weeks, going deep into september. oh well, at least it will keep the TV money rolling in. anyhoo, i would be glad for some information on this subject
