@ danut simple. He was red carded because the assistant referee told the referee he saw a head butting.The referee asked the assistant to confirm he saw a head butt as it is a red card offence. The assistant stammered a bit before confirming he saw a head butt. Joubert the referee made the correct decision based on what he was told and is in no way guilty of any wrong doing. The assistant made a call that was wrong and has been deemed to be wrong and in view of what happened to an earlier assitant in a previous game will no doubt be stood down for a period of time or in justice to the previous assistant should be. However he is only guilty of a poor judgement and Im sure he honestly felt he saw it that way. It only goes to show these decisions need to be made carefully as they affect the game immensely. If a referee or assistant make such a call, one that has an important outcome on a game, then there must be some punishment. There are for players, coaches and administrators there must be also for our officials or once again the conspiracy theorists will have a field day. We await the outcome.
