Harlequins flanker Chris Robshaw tackling Wasps lock Joe Launchbury

Last year's opener: Robshaw

Harlequins captain Chris Robshaw is eager to get off to the best possible start when his side faces London Irish in 2014/15's London Double Header.

Twickenham is the setting for the September 6 games, with Quins edging Wasps 16-15 last year after Andy Goode's late penalty hit the upright.

But Quins ultimately suffered three defeats in their first five Premiership games, albeit progressing to the play-offs in the end thanks to a resurgence.

"We dug ourselves out of a hole last season," flank Robshaw said at the launch of Harlequins new Adidas, DHL sponsored kit for this season.

"We had a tough year with injuries and started a bit slow, so we left ourselves with a bit to do.

"Every season you want to be in the top four and have a shot of getting silverware at the end of the season. On the last day we just about escaped.

"The last six matches were must-win games, which were tough and quite exhausting, but the effort of the guys was outstanding to get ourselves [to the play-offs].

"Hopefully we can start the season a bit better this year, hit the ground running and get ourselves in a good position for the rest of the year.

"And what better place to start than at Twickenham in front of a big crowd. The players love it, hopefully the fans do to and hopefully we can come away with another opening day win."
