'Back to business': Sam Burgess

Bath recruit Sam Burgess had feared his NRL season was over before scan results on Monday ruled out the worst.

Burgess is set to switch codes to join the Premiership club later this year, after he has completed his duties with the Rabbitohs.

"Scan results on my shoulder were positive this morning. No serious damage. Thanks for everyone's messages and well wishes. Back to business," Burgess posted on Twitter.

There is no indication yet though as to when Burgess will return to action for South Sydney.

His coach Michael Maguire also expressed caution over when exactly the England star would be back on the field.

Sam is a bit concerned about it. Until you get the scans you won't know exactly what it is," Maguire told AAP.

"Sam said it was sore internally. We'll have to play it by ear."
