Richard Cockerill v Clermont

Beaten: Richard Cockerill

Leicester Tigers boss Richard Cockerill has promised that his team will come back stronger after their dramatic loss to Northampton.

Tom Wood's late try sealed an impressive comeback for Saints in a fiery encounter, with Leicester losing Vereniki Goneva, Dan Bowden and Tom Youngs to the bin.

It marks the end of an incredible run of nine consecutive appearances at the Twickenham showpiece, but Cockerill vowed to bounce back strongly next season.

"This is Leicester. We'll be back," said Cockerill.

"Our discipline killed us. I think we gave away twice as many pens as them and the yellow cards gave them impetus.

"You can see what it means to [Northampton] to beat Leicester.

"We'll have a beer tonight now. Our season is over."
