Joy: Ryan Lamb

Despite picking up a win after their relegation to the Championship, Worcester's Ryan Lamb was happy to silence his old fans.

Lamb started out with the Cherry and Whites before joining London Irish, Northampton, Leicester and now Worcester.

The fly-half slotted the winning kick in his side's 28-27 win and raised a finger to his lips after receiving some heckles from the travelling support.

"One of the Gloucester fans was giving me stick behind me and I just wanted to silence them by knocking it over," said Lamb.

"I've been working hard with Paul Grayson on my kicking and striking the ball a lot better over the last couple of weeks. I've just got to carry on doing that next season.

"It's great to repay the fans who have been fantastic this season. We started slowly but we bounced back with a never-say-die attitude.

"To come back and beat Gloucester like we did will stand us in good stead as we look forward to the next campaign."

"It'll be good to have a break and come back refreshed for pre-season."

Gloucester director of rugby Nigel Davies admitted his side were way below par, finishing a rough season on a low note.

"In patches we played good rugby but overall it wasn't good enough," said Davies.

"We had opportunities to put points on the board but failed to do that and it pretty much summed up the season.

"There was plenty of effort and endeavour but discipline was just horrible.

"I think there were a couple of occasions where I felt we just put pressure back on ourselves. There were times where we could have managed the game better."
