Louw will play again - Ford

Returning soon: Francois Louw

Bath boss Mike Ford remains adamant his Springbok flanker Francois Louw will play again this season, despite ankle problems.

Louw, who starred for the Boks during last year's Rugby Championship, damaged ankle ligaments while taking on London Irish a fortnight ago, though the injury does not require surgery.

And Ford expects the 28-year-old to make a full recovery in time to lend his weight to Bath's bid for a Premiership semi-final as the domestic run-in hots up.

"He could have had to have an operation and be out for the season but luckily that's not the case," Ford told BBC Points West.

"But we're not sure when he'll be back. It will be a few weeks."

There was more good news for fourth-placed Bath with Louw's back-row colleague Antoni Fa'osiliva expected to return before the campaign draws to a close, and England midfielder Jonathan Joseph nearing a playing comeback alongside hooker Rob Webber.
