Battling: Miles Benjamin

Leicester Tigers wing Miles Benjamin praised his team's never-say-die attitude after fighting back to draw 27-27 with Bath on Sunday.

Young fly-half Owen Williams missed the conversion following Jamie Gibson's late try that would have brought an unlikely victory for the Tigers after trailing by ten points late in the second half.

Benjamin though was happy with the effort shown by the team despite missing an opportunity to beat a top four side for the first time this season in the Premiership.

"The last thing the fans want to see is a side crumbling in the dying minutes of a game at home. At one point, we were ten points down, but we didn't give up," Benjamin told the Leicester Mercury.

"To score with one minute left shows how much we're willing to work for each other.

"Hopefully, we can take that into the Treviso game on Saturday and cement our good position in Europe.

"We haven't had a win against a top-four side this season, so we were definitely keen to make an impression, but weren't quite able to do that.

"Bath played well in patches, but we made a couple of defensive errors that let them into the game. Overall, we're disappointed.

"We've had a lot of injuries, so it's often been a case of getting used to new combinations or a lack of communication. But sometimes you just make mistakes."

Benjamin picked up his first Premiership try of the season having bagged two in the Heineken Cup against Montpellier back in December.

The former Worcester wing has now made nine appearances since returning from a serious neck injury that kept him out of action for over a year.

"It's always nice, and a bit of a relief to be honest, to get on the scoresheet," added Benjamin.

"The first thing that people look for wingers to do is score tries. I know I'll always be judged on that.

"But, equally, you've got a responsibility to your team in other aspects of the game, like chasing kicks and taking high balls, plus a lot more unseen work you have to do and have to do well."
