According to a report, Sale Sharks scrum-half Dwayne Peel will leave the club at the end of the campaign for a move to Championship side Bristol.
Manchester Evening News believe the former British and Irish Lion and Wales international snubbed an offer from Sale to make the move.
The newspaper report that the 32-year-old was given a deal 'too good to refuse' from Bristol, with the carrot of his family living closer to Wales and also being in the restaurant business with former team-mate Stephen Jones being further reasons for leaving the improving Aviva Premiership side.
Sale have yet to comment on the matter but director of rugby Steve Diamond has hinted that he would be looking for a scrum-half for next term.
"We are on the look-out for a number of key positions," he told the MEN website.
"There will be a maximum perhaps of four or five new players coming in.
"We are in the market for a scrum-half, outside back, tighthead prop, loose head prop and a number eight.
"Other than that we are well catered for."
