Struggle in the rain: Dean Ryan

Despite having failed to win a single match in the Aviva Premiership this season, Worcester boss Dean Ryan refuses to give in.

The Warriors slumped to their 12th league loss against London Irish in a 22-9 loss, leaving them 11 points behind their nearest rivals Newcastle and rooted to the relegation spot.

Outsmarted in tricky conditions against Irish at the Madejski Stadium, Ryan was left to bemoan his team's failures in the set-piece and in the eyes of referee Wayne Barnes.

James O'Connor kicked five penalties as Worcester were continually punished for their indiscretions, with Leonardo Senatore sent to the sin-bin.

"We didn't manage the game well enough in the difficult conditions," said Ryan.

"We came second in the set-piece, lacked discipline and showed how vulnerable we can be.

"We are really disappointed with that performance. We are not giving up but we have to get a win on board as it all becomes a bit hollow.

"This was the Worcester of six to seven weeks ago but I'm not questioning the commitment of the players.

"We've come here to rebuild this club but it's a long-term process and can't be judged on a week to week basis - but we have to learn from our mistakes."
