Swapping colours: Freddie Burns

Gloucester fly-half Freddie Burns has reportedly signed a three-year deal to join Leicester Tigers next season.

The England number ten is out of contract at the end 2013/2014 and his future has been the source of speculation over the last two months.

Leicester are seeking a replacement for Toby Flood, who is leaving the club at the end of the season most likely to join Toulouse.

Burns now looks to set to move to Welford Road despite a poor run of form for Gloucester in recent weeks. England centre Billy Twelvetrees has been selected ahead of him at fly-half against Worcester and London Irish.

Leicester were reportedly also considering Wales fly-half Rhys Priestland to replace Flood, but Burns appears to have won the race and will now be with the Tigers until 2017, according to The Rugby Paper.

Gloucester in turn are now looking for a fly-half, with Priestland a possible signing in what would be a reunion working with Nigel Davies having been coached by the Welshman at the Scarlets.

Another candidate to move to Kingsholm is Bayonne number ten Stephen Brett.
