Cautious: Toby Booth

Bath coach Toby Booth is not taking anything for granted ahead of travelling to Premiership strugglers Worcester.

The Warriors sit eight points adrift at the bottom of the Aviva Premiership after six matches, with many expecting them to be relegated by the end of the season.

Operating under a new director of rugby in Dean Ryan, Booth believes that Worcester have been unlucky in some fixtures and will provide Bath with a stern challenge on Friday at Sixways.

Bath have begun their season in impressive fashion with four wins from their first six games to sit third in the league, with Booth underlining how fine the margins can be in every fixture.

"The Premiership is so tight and, with the quality of teams in it, anything can happen on any given day," Booth told the Bath Chronicle.

"Everyone was talking about us going to Newcastle at the start of the season but not many people have gone to Newcastle and done very well since then, so that puts our result in perspective.

"Worcester is no different. They've been very close on many occasions and come second.

"They have always been physical and Friday nights are very difficult away from home.

"We know results haven't necessarily gone Worcester's way but we are more interested in what we do. It's another opportunity to try to accrue some points.

"We've trained exceptionally well this week and we are ready for the contest on Friday.

"If you add the fact it's a Friday along with call-ups and international training camps like we've had this week, it does make things more difficult.

"But these are challenges that this team is beginning to experience because it has got greater international experience due to the calibre of people in it.

"That's the sort of challenge I'd like every week because it means we've got a high-calibre squad. Hopefully we have to meet that challenge on a more regular basis."
