Honest: Louis Deacon

Leicester Tigers lock Louis Deacon hailed Wasps' Andy Goode after defeat saw the Tigers drop out of the Aviva Premiership's top four.

Goode - a former Leicester team-mate of Deacon's - kicked three penalties, two drop goals and a conversion in difficult conditions as Wasps triumphed 22-12 last weekend.

The loss was Leicester's second of the season in the league and saw them drop out of the top four places on points difference behind Exeter Chiefs.

Targeting next weekend's game at Welford Road against Harlequins, Deacon underlined his frustration as he reflected on what went wrong against Wasps.

"We have got Harlequins at home on Saturday and they have been struggling," Deacon told the Leicester Mercury.

"We said in the changing room after the game how disappointed we were, but we have to stay positive and the focus is now on Saturday.

"We didn't get enough decent field position [against Wasps].

"We had one really good chance in the second half and needed to come away with something from that.

"The difference on the day was Andy Goode, the conditions suited his game. The two drop-goals and the kick from 60 metres were the difference.

"We never really got going or took the opportunities that we had. Conditions made it difficult and we didn't come away with anything.

"Overall, we are quite frustrated. If you are going to lose games then you still need to get the bonus point.

"We thought we were on for that but Goode's kicking in that kind of game and in those conditions was outstanding."
