In the dog box: Ryan Lamb

Leicester Tigers Director of Rugby Richard Cockerill has revealed that fly-half Ryan Lamb has broken his hand in a fight.

"Ryan has broken his hand and is in the doghouse," Cockerill told the Leicester Mercury.

The incident which occurred on Monday, follows on from his second -half sending-off in an A-league match between the Tigers Development XV and Gloucester.

Lamb was involved in a fiery scuffle with Koree Britton of Gloucester, the club at which he began his professional career in 2009.

The 27-year-old, who will now face a lengthy spell on the sidelines, has been involved in a number of off-field misdemeanor.

Lamb was arrested and charged with assault in 2009 and was hit in the face with a bottle in 2010 after an altercation.

Lamb, who has also represented the England Saxons side, will need to put his indiscretions aside if he hopes to resurrect his promising career.
