Remaining calm: Conor O'Shea

Harlequins director of rugby Conor O'Shea insists his side have much to look forward to despite losing two of their opening four Premiership games.

Having recorded a narrow curtain-raising victory over London Wasps at Twickenham, Quins have since tasted defeat at the hands of Northampton Saints and Saracens, book-ending a comfortable success over bottom side Worcester Warriors.

It has been an average start by Quins' own high standards, and there have been early concerns that the side may fail to make the play-off spots.

The Quins boss, however, was adamant that his side will be among those vying for silverware come the end of the season.

"We will let people say what they want," O'Shea told The Times.

"We will do our talking on the pitch. I am not reading anything into it [our start]. I am seeing a team in pretty rude health. Last year we did the double over Leicester and Northampton, who ended up in the final.

"We will remain calm through the ups and downs. It is like a round of golf, how you react and keep your score going when times are tough. If we play like we have over the past couple of weeks we will be right in it. We know we are a good side. We have won three trophies in three seasons and that hasn't happened by accident.

"If we keep on playing the way we have been, the results will take care of themselves. We have a load of young players getting a wealth of experience in massive games. The future of our club is unbelievably bright."
