London Irish flanker Kieran Low has praised the club's improved team spirit after a tough start to the new campaign.

The Exiles saw a host of international stars, including Jonathan Joseph and Alex Corbisiero, but despite a number of lower key arrivals over the off-season Low believes Irish as a squad are better of.

Irish have lost three of their opening four matches, their only win coming away at Worcester, whilst suffering their heaviest defeat so far against Bath last weekend. The host Harlequins this weekend.

"There have been a lot of personnel changes and we had a long pre-season together," said Low.

"That was a lot of hard work and the team really started to gel, but that gelling is only going to continue at the start of the season.

"The team spirit here is so much better than last season, everyone wants to be here, we have all bought into the ethos and we need to start playing that way.

"The Bath game was disappointing because we made such a slow start and that was what cost us.

"In the second half we showed what we are all about but three defeats from the first four games is not where we want to be.

"We could have got off to a stronger start, losing to Exeter in the end was disappointing but our home form needs to improve."

Low against Bath after injury, having scored an impressive try in the opening fixture against Saracens. Focused on racking up more appearances with Irish, Low admits he is happily to play anywhere.

"I just want to be out there playing games and helping the team," added Low.

"Whether that is in the second row or at flanker and I have enjoyed my time so far at six. But myself and the team we need to keep working hard to improve, starting with Quins this weekend. We finished last season really well at home and we need to get back to that again."
