Fly-half Toby Flood has been named as Leicester's club captain following the retirement of Geordan Murphy.
Flood filled in for Murphy at various stages of last season, including in the Aviva Premiership final, and as such his promotion to the role on a permanent basis does not come as a huge surprise.
Director of rugby Richard Cockerill had few doubts about his decision.
"He is in a key position in the team, a key decision-maker and communicator, and he led the team very well at the end of last season," Cockerill told the Leicester Mercury.
"He is a mature player and a good influence in the squad, on and off the field."
Anthony Allen and Louis Deacon will serve as Flood's deputies.
