Leicester centre Anthony Allen cannot wait to renew his playing partnership with new signing Ryan Lamb when they start the upcoming campaign.
The former Gloucester pair are back together in 2013/14 after the Tigers signed Lamb to their squad, replacing the outgoing George Ford.
Lamb has plenty of attacking qualities and should be the perfect back-up for Toby Flood this season, although he will want to play more than Ford did. And Allen is pleased with the fly-half's signature.
"History has shown that the club have been good at making new signings," Allen told Sky Sports.
"They have not always gone for big names, there's been people like myself. I remember the fans weren't too sure about me but now I am a permanent fixture in the team.
"I am looking forward to linking back up with Ryan, he came on in the final for Northampton so it was quite nice to play against him as it has been over the years.
"Hopefully he can settle down at the club - as obviously he has been around a few clubs - really work on his game, push on and develop a bit more.
"I think he is at the right club to do that and you never know what could happen."
