Gold remains grounded

Work to do: Gary Gold

Bath coach Gary Gold was full of praise for back Kyle Eastmond but admitted his side had won nothing yet.

Eastmond played his part as Bath ran in five tries past Worcester at the Recreation Ground. Gold however remains wary ahead of the visit of Premiership strugglers London Irish next weekend.

"He's outstanding. We need the ball in Kyle's hands. He's a prodigious talent, passes off both hands," said Gold.

"If he needs to kick, he can kick. We have to do the work to put him in the right positions."

"We've not achieved anything yet. [Irish] are going to be a tough challenge as well.

"They had a similar result against Worcester a few weeks ago and seem to be doing well now. It's going to become a real dogfight for us to try to edge up the table.

"We've just got to continue doing what we're doing. Whatever else is happening in the table, we can't do anything about that. We'll just stick to the task and carry on."

Worcester coach Richard Hill stated that a failure to pick up points at the start of second half ultimately led to his side's undoing, with the Warriors now sitting just above the relegation battle below.

"We're disappointed, because a lot of effort went in, for the 60 minutes certainly," said Hill.

"In the first 40 we took the sting out of Bath really. We had good pressure at the start of the second half, a driving line-out and the scrum.

"We had six or seven minutes of real effort there and if we had scored we'd have gone into the lead.

"Not only did we not get over but we conceded a penalty - and that was a killer blow and it knocked the stuffing out of everybody."
