Powell: Escaped a suspension

Sale back row Andy Powell has escaped a suspension despite being found guilty of two offences during the defeat against Bath.

The Wales international was handed a fine though, with an RFU Disciplinary Panel ordering the Wales international to pay £5,000, although £4,000 of that is suspended until 30 May next year.

But Sharks winger Tom Brady was handed a ban after he was found guilty of a dangerous tackle on Ben Skirving during the same game at the Rec.

Brady was given a two-week ban to leave the Aviva Premiership club's bottom side without his services until 16 October.

"Dry" - not a word you often associate with Powell.

cliffguy - I know you're saying something that is so obviously incorrect just to get a reaction. I among many welsh fans was relieved when Mr Powell left our country to go and be a child in England. My heart sinks whenever he looks likely to come on as a replacement for Wales. Hopefully we won't have to go through the stress of wondering how he is going to cock up a game for Wales ever again.

@cliffguy He will join the likes of Phillips and Henson who were angels before coming under the bad influence of other country's leagues.

Erm, cliffguy, I might be a bitter wasps fan but mr powell did drive a golf buggy down a motorway while still playing his rugby in Wales didn't. Which ironically drove him into the premiership to wasps. I don't think you learn that behaviour anywhere really, he might just be a genuine idiot. Not unlike his new clubmate Cipriani. Not that I'm too sad that either is out of the wasps colours these days.

@cliffguy - didn't Powell go on his little jaunt down the M4 when he was at Cardiff?

The worry is that boys like Powell pick up their low standard of behaviour from the premiership clubs when they move to them. Very disappointing from a Welsh lad.

The usual suspects in trouble again. Powell joining the age old list with Mike Phillips and Quade Cooper. The thing is, these guys are just dumb. Plain and simple and will probably never learn.
