Wasps prop Tim Payne has been given a two-week ban after pleading guilty to a charge of striking Vasily Artemyev with the knee in a game against Saints.
Payne was cited for an offence "contrary to law 10.4 (a)" during last weekend's Aviva Premiership match against the Saints at Franklin's Gardens.
The suspension runs until October 15 and the forward is free to play again on October 16.
The case was heard at the Royal Courts of Justice in London by an RFU Disciplinary Panel of His Honour Judge Jeff Blackett (chair), Elizabeth Riley and Peter Budge.

Spudsandgravey - That's a fair point. I guess the TMO bottled it. You could almost see the TMO hesistate, as if he wanted to say red but the word came out as yellow? There isnt much point in having a system in place if it doesn't work.

So why wasn't he red carded when it was plainly obvious to all watching that he should have been. Buck up TMOs!! 2 weeks is right but no good to Northampton.

It's not very nice to drop your knee on someone's head. But I have seen worse and it wasnt too bad. So two weeks is probably about right.
