APV1 says...

So who would be your starting front 3?

Wilson, Webber and James..?

@jameslih - there is no point having a load of props who can be effective in the loose if they can't srummage.

The addittion of James is a good start, but Bath MUST bring in some scrummagers.

@APV1 - may be just me but it seems to have been mighty quiet on the recruitment front generally, considering the retirements this season.

That said, I've just looked at the updated 1st team and we have 5 props and 3 hookers. Having been joined by Webber and James on the closed season. Its a half decent selection of players if we can just get a unit to gel.

Also, on a positive note, an awful lot of players got good quality game time last season for one reason or another and we may see a few academy players in the first team squad next year.

@bones - hand injury which @rollingmaul may be a reason for his binding challenges - certainly the hand on the ground thing has only become a part of his game in the last couple of seasons

And another one bites the dust.

Flats has been awesome, both on and off the pitch, for Bath. Great charisma and attitude. A good balance of professional focus, with levity and humour - just what every club needs.

As rollingmaul suggests, the Bath FR is now in some real trouble. We need to recruit some props and hookers soon, otherwise we're going to struggle even more in the coming season.

What was his injury?

Real shame.

One of the few English props of the last decade to be genuinely comfortable on either side of the scrum.

Barring injury would have had a load more caps.

Im afraid he had become a complete liability with his inability to bind - he's been a good servant, but front row is a real area of weakness (among many) that Bath must address if they are to compete with the top sides in the premiership.
