A PR consultant would be worthwhile perhaps; a lot of the time it isn't what he's saying, it's how he says it. Take the outburst at Stuart Lancaster - the essence of what he was saying was right, Lancaster shouldn't have been talking up a player's injury ahead of their biggest club game of the season. But he approached it in completely the wrong way (talking to the media first rather than directly to Lancaster) and some of the rhetoric was completely unneccessary. Everyone has (quite rightly) ignored the point because the way it was couched was bad.

As for Bath, I have no doubt that once your long-term plans off the field are realised (I'm not getting soaked at the Recreation Ground again!) and you can provide some depth up front, you'll be challenging at the right end of the table again. It's not that long ago that a trip down to the Rec wasn't fun for any team!

@ lawynd - you're absolutely right. I think that if he gets a good PR spokesperson for the club and concentrates on what he does best (staying away from the media when possible), he's a force to be reckoned with.

Tigers will always be a club to beat, although i admit Bath rarely manage it..!

The odd ill-advised outburst aside, I think he and O'Connor have done well at Leicester. I had concerns on areas of the team at the beginning of the season but overall I think the team has performed well and one of the problem areas (the wings) looks promising with Thompstone and Benjamin arriving.
