Kieran Marmion Connacht v Toulouse HEC 2013

In the clear: Kieran Marmion

Connacht scrum-half Kieran Marmion was cleared to play after his citing for foul play in last weekend's Heineken Cup pool game against Saracens.

Marmion was cited by match citing commissioner, Richard McGhee (Scotland) for striking Saracens replacement Neil de Kock during the second-half of a match that Connacht lost 64-6 at Allianz Park.

The independent judicial officer, Roger Morris (Wales), analysed both video footage of the incident and written submissions from Connacht's manager, Tim Allnutt, Neil De Kock, and ERC disciplinary officer, Roger O'Connor.

The judicial officer upheld the citing complaint, in that Marmion committed an act of foul play, however, he decided that it did not warrant a red card and that no sanction should be imposed.
