Edinburgh back-row Cornell Du Preez has been cited following Sunday's Round Six Heineken Cup tie against Munster at Thomond Park.
Du Preez was sin-binned after English referee Wayne Barnes ruled he had lead with the head after battering into the Munster second row Paul O'Connell at a ruck during the first half of the match.
The complaint was made by the match citing commissioner Yves Thieffine.
Jeremy Summers of England has been appointed as the independent judicial officer for the hearing which will take place in Dublin on Thursday, January 23.
Munster scored six tries as they clinched a home quarter-final berth with a 38-6 victory.
