Toulouse fly-half Luke McAlister is expected to be sidelined for up to four months after rupturing a tendon in his biceps.

Toulouse fly-half Luke McAlister is expected to be sidelined for up to four months after rupturing a tendon in his biceps.

The former All Black was forced off the field near the end of the first half in Toulouse's Heineken Cup victory over Saracens at Wembley on Friday. He will undergo surgery on Wednesday.

"Gutted to be told I'm out for 3/4 months torn bicep tendon staying positive & will work hard to come back better thanks for all your concern," announced the 30-year-old on his Twitter account on Saturday.

It was bad night for the New Zealander, who missed three kicks at goal and punted two clearing kicks directly into touch.

Good news for Toulouse however is that former France fly-half Lionel Beauxis is set to make his comeback from an ankle injury shortly.
