Morgan Parra: Staying in Clermont

Clermont have confirmed that international scrum-half Morgan Parra has signed a new two-year deal with the Top 14 heavyweights.

Clermont have confirmed that French international scrum-half Morgan Parra has signed a new two-year deal with the Top 14 heavyweights.

24-year-old Parra, who already has 46 caps for his country, arrived in the Auvergne in 2009 after coming through the ranks at Bourgoin.

This season he has started 11 games and scored 141 points in the Top 14.

"I need to forge close ties with my team-mates to feel comfortable and play at my best. It takes time to form the bonds such as we have now in Clermont," said Parra.

"I want to use that base for me to invest in the long term and help the club get new titles. This will be our ambition for this season and beyond.

"We all want to win titles to offer this club, this region and the great public that supports us with a fervor and limitless fidelity and gives us great moments here at (Stade) Michelin and throughout Europe, the awards they deserve.

"All these perspectives have prompted me to extend my engagement with ASM Clermont Auvergne whose colours I will defend with great joy and pride until 2016. "
