Michael Bradley: Encouraged by his players' attitude

Edinburgh coach Michael Bradley insists there are positives that can be taken from his side's showing in Friday's 15-3 Heineken Cup loss to Racing Metro.

Bradley's side's poor goal-kicking display at Murrayfield cost them this Pool One clash as they only succeeded with one penalty from six attempts.

Yet he was encouraged by the overall attitude of his players.

"The effort was fantastic, particularly the pack," said Bradley.

"When the ball was in play, they made their tackles, carried the ball, and the defence, right across one to 15.

"The boys made their tackles, and there were some great offensive tackles."

But he was critical of his side's decision-making however.

"Some of our management of the game, particularly in the early part of the first half, was not good," he added.

"The type of game and conditions it was meant you had to play in the right areas, take your kicks when they came your way and we weren't able to do that, therefore we lost.

"In conditions like that, the key issue is that you play in the right areas. More than that, I think we needed to manage the match better than we did. It's a lesson for us really, and a harsh lesson at that.

"We weren't playing for much apart from the fact that we were playing in front of our own fans.

"We haven't got a point in the tournament so far and we wanted to move that on."

How can Bradley or any scottish supporter take any posatives from the form of both SRU sides this season in the HC.Once again they are no where, and imo its just not good enough.Consdering that most of Scotlands international players are in either Edinburgh or Glasgow, and they consistently fail every season to win anything. No real challange in the HC or Pro12,except once in a blue mon freak season, they get to the HC knockouts. All of scottish rugby needs a massive kick up the AR%$ from the top of the SRU to the lowest coach in BT div 3 or whatever and every profesional player..Scotland badly need to lose any rights to HC rugby, just to get the players off their fat bums and make them do something. At the moment they just want to cruise along with their heads up their ass,and imo DONT TRY
