Yeah, can't understand why this wouldn't be at Croke Park if held in Dublin. The fact that it is being held in Dublin and not the San Siro, Nou Camp or Stadio Olimpico etc highlights how small the circle of teams and countries involved in the H Cup is compared to the number of countries in Europe. Basically the finals venue is a rotation of the 5Ns countries without any initiative to take the cup somewhere else and actually develope rugby further on the continent.
For a start both Barcelona and Real Madrid have amateur rugby sections and it would be amazing to see ERC show some initiative and go to them and say if you make the rugby sections pro we'll involve you in the Amlin and then with more experience, the HC. But do you think the ERC has that kind of pro-active thinking? Yeah, maybe when hell freezes over.

Realistically the final could easily attract 85,000+ fans, so putting it in the Aviva doesn't make much sense. If it is played in Dublin, surely it should be played somewhere like Croke Park which is the 4th largest stadium in Europe (according to wikipedia, that is). I know the Aviva is owned by the IRFU, but they, and the Irish economy, could stand to make more money if it was at a bigger venue and it just seems short sighted.

No problems with it going to Dublin but the stadium only holds 50-55,000 i believe. If look at Cardiff, Twickenham Stade deFrance all 80,000 + and dead easy to get to.
I'm with @carpelone and others, Barcelona, Rome South of France all fantastic venues in the sun at the end of the season.Nothing wrong with Dublin but sunny it ain't

But again? I thought playing in Barcelona would have been fantastic, for a change.

@crunchfit Nothing new really, except for the fact the RDS will be used for the Amlin final. There was a press release today so all the sites are following suit.
