Israel Folau: Difficult to stop

Springbok boss Heyneke Meyer is wary of the threat which Wallabies wing Israel Folau will pose in Saturday's clash in Brisbane.

Meyer hailed Folau's impact for the Wallabies and the Waratahs since the 24-year-old former rugby league star started his rugby union career at the start of the year.

Folau has made a sensational start to his Test career, scoring three tries in five Tests for the Wallabies and Meyer admitted that his side's defence will have to be at their best to keep him in check.

"I don't want to talk the Wallabies up; I want to talk my own team up, but he's been a revelation to watch in Super Rugby," Meyer told the Sydney Morning Herald.

"At the end of the day it doesn't matter which country you coach, I love to see him play."

Folau did particularly well for the Waratahs against South African sides in Super Rugby.

"I really believe he's one of the best game breakers in world rugby and he's only played properly for (one) season," added Meyer.

He predicted the Wallabies' poor Bledisloe Cup form would galvanise the team and said he expects Wallabies coach Ewen McKenzie to pick Quade Cooper over Matt Toomua at fly-half.

"If you're the South African, New Zealand or Australian coach, you're always under pressure, the team's always under pressure," he explained.

"They will want to lift themselves. It will be very physical and I think it will be very fast. It will be a very quick Test match.

"We don't see [that] they're weak because they've lost a few games. It will motivate them more."
