@ArmchairGeneral and the AB's should be worried about the SA centres - why??

What a useless waste of time all this nonsense is. It would be far more to the point to build a reliable team, with the Australian team in such bad shape, which could provide security instead of going to all this trouble for someone who has never done anything for the All Blacks and never will in the future.

ArmchairGeneral , Conrad Smith should be back by the South African match and then with Nonu we won't be needing to blood anyone new. In the meantime it makes sense to play SBW if he's the best available option, which he clearly is. Playing SBW for 2 games wont be the cause of a campaign loss but it may very well bring about 2 victories over the Aussies, which is what we need.

As a neutral who doesn't mind if ABs fail through the campaign, I do agree with the entertainment value of playing him. It would be awesome to watch the impact of his playing and then departing for Japan when they face the SAf centres.

Don't feed the troll lads...
Anyone suggesting that the AB not field the best side available to them is certainly clueless. And that would include putting SBW into the run on 15....

Great news. I was sad to see him go after super rugby without playing in the championship

Yes ankletap. Just drop him. Its so simple and obvious. Don't start a campaign with a quick fix. If you can bring in they guy who's going to play in South Africa in a home game why miss the chance? It's not like there is a shortage of tallent.
This whole debate baffles me. Just drop him! If there is a cause for AB campaign loss it will be changing horses in midstream when you had plenty willing and able to take you all the way across.

I just honestly hope to see SBW and Nonu playing 12 and 13, its a combination thats only ran once or twice and I just think it would be pretty entertaining to see what two of the best centers in the world will look like playing off one another instead of fighting for a place.

It'll be good to have him just for the two test until smith is back. It's unfortunate we dont a suitable back up for smith yet, don't want to risk putting in a newbe against SA and OZ. Come eoyt you'll def see a few young guns coming through.

Hmmm Armchair ... Conrad Smith not available for the Wallaby games, so you drop him for the others? Informed self interest should rule methinks.

Who gives a flying "F" there are a whole team of AB's that can do the same if not more damage in attack and defense, we will lose this game as we never win in Auckland, it's that simple!

I remember Trinats saying how well the Wannabies have done when SBW was playing against them, well he has had about 15 mins over two games (Wannabie losses of course - Trnats as usual was not letting the facts get in the way of a good story) so now his theory can really be tested. The Wannabies have already "rested" QC or is he just not good enough? Anyway Trinats will really want the AB's to thump the Wannabies so they can get rid of Dingo, so either way mate you could be a winner! Not something you are that used to I suppose?

He's not available for South Africa games?
Just drop him and move on!

My sense is that SBW will spook the Wallabies ... they will be nervous and either hold off him or overcompensate and commit too many to him. There is a diffidence in Australia (my current abode) towards rugby league players that permeates the psyche - league just gets so much more attention. Look at the unreasonable hopes pinned on past league recruits into the wallabies - an unholy rush that was!

Trinats, what rules has NZ bent or manipulated???
Panasonic were asked if he could arrive a little later, they said yes?
What is bent or manipulated?

Trinats2 says...
Awesome news for Australia, they can rest a few players now.
I was in no doubt NZ could bend and manipulate the rules to suit them yet again.
I can see the headlines after NZ lose the Bledisloe in Auckland. "Thank god SBW is leaving Union" or "off load king has been off loaded to League" or "Heads have to roll, why would we use a player leaving NZ" "SBW cost us the Bledisloe"

Bad news for the Wallabies. But I doubt the timing of his availability. It is bound to create tension in the NZ camp. Great player - superstar SBW.
