trintas: "NZ go when all the oldies retire" which oldies, or were you thinking of the 70-year old due Sharpe and Samo? Fine display of Australian youth. I see NZ's 2011 U-20 squad having far more impact on the 2013 ABs than their Australian counterparts.

New Zealand is to test rugby what Canada is to ice hockey (I put ice first cause a lot of you mooks think grass hockey, IS THE hockey. Only girls play grass hockey). Small population compared to the other test sides yet always dominate. Australia, you are America to NZ. You're a huge rival, bigger, obnoxious, good at sports, but most of the times, just straight up dicks!! Canada has America. Funny parrallel. I will say though, never met a Kiwi I didn't like; can't say the same for Jafas(just another fuckin Aussie) and Yankees. Watching NZ put you over a barrel all the time, with a slip up here and there so you can get your breathe, makes for good rugby.

TheTruthHurts, thank you for admitting it.. (there Trinats, even your countrymen are saying we dominate) :)

Although being the current RL champs, we are World Champs at 2 of your 4 main sports (5 if you include AFL)

But let's stick to rugby for now!

@Trinats8, so I'm lost now mate. So your saying that your deserved 3N win in Brisbane doesn't count because it was at home? You are a complicated man, my ANZAC brother...

hybrid187 says...

TheTruthHurts.. I'd say its quite impressive NZ completely dominate a popular international sport like no other team in world wide sport does (maybe USA having the Americas Cup (sailing) ?) From a nation of 4.5 mill +- is not a bad effort at all.

As far as the Olympics goes.. NZ came 3rd on a per - capita basis.

Australia were 18th, with 1 more gold but also 20 million more people to choose from.

2eyedkiwi: what's a one eyed kiwi like? Loved your opening comment. Chuckle chuckle.

Trinuts: what's "a classic Ozzie name"?

Bruce or Doris. Hope that helps.

ArmchairGeneral says...

Truth hurts: that argument rings hollow now, given that NZ (and RSA) sat above Oz for well over half the Olympics... And another Gold today for NZ following a drug test failure from some other nation. NZ 6 gold. Oz 7. Not quite single sporting nation vs multi sporting giants. Per capita I'd say NZ were the multi sporting nation of the two.

...... good to see the pre-match trans tasman mud slinging in full flight long may it continue! don't worry Kiwi's we'll give you your victory in the ONE AND ONLY sport you are truly masters at..... :D

2eyedkiwi:

Yes you are right, it's the main event that really counts. So welcome to the club with 2 x RWC wins. (although deep down, both of yours were in your own back yard so don't really count !!!)

melkdave says...

@Trinats2

Your asking for a timeframe ok how about over the next 3-5 yrs ,Australia do have a fairly young team.Otherwise it would be 3 yrs max

Posted 11:33 13th August 2012

2eyedkiwi says...

@trinats6, the 3N last year was purely a training run for the RWC, hence the rotation policy and combination changes game after game. Fact is, no one in NZ (or SA) gave a sh*t about curtain raiser, the main event (RWC) is all that mattered. As for risking injury prior to the RWC? Was never going to happen against your team mate....

Ramage says...

Yup Trinuts he was born in American Samoa and arrived in NZ as a youngster went to Primary School in Kelvin Road Papakura, High School at St Kents in Pakuranga so well steeped in rugby in NZ and eligible to play for NZ. Travels on a NZ passport.

Unlike a number of OZ players who didn't get to Australia until during and after their High School years. But all this is irrelevant as who really cares as they all qualify for their respective countries. Ignore the taunt mate about Polotu-Nau you are just being set up and have taken the bait hook line and sinker. Its time we left this hoary chestnut alone and put it to bed. Lets just leave it to the lowlife joke Stephen Jones, to peddle this kind of nonsense.

Kiwilad:

If no one cared, why did the ABs put a full strength team out against Australia ?? and risk injury prior to RWC ??

gayKenny:

Yes born and bred in Sydney. What is a "classic aussie name" ? would it be something along the lines of the kiwi player of the year, Kaino ?? But is he not from American Samoa !!!!

TPN loves giving interviews. He has got to back up the heavy words with a heavy performance on Saturday. TPN has been in the Wallabies frame for a long now and has also improved his throwing compared to earlier time. He is quality physical player and needs to up his techniques. Now! is the time for TNP to take control of the Aussie front-row and take command of it. Wallabies need to boot out N.Sharpe from its squad. He is old news and bad news for the team, also younger players.

2EyedKiwi says...

@Trinats2. Um, yeah.... that platform they set for Genia and Cooper was just sensational.... What was the score again?

Posted 01:49 13th August 2012

kiwilad says...

Trinats, no one cared about the 3N last year, and as a result, Aus managed to win it.

The will back it up with another victory if they are good enough.

however, that will be hard to do, after loosing in Argentina...

Haha scrum did well...the nail in the coffin in that semi final victory is the Australian scrum getting bent in 2. I can find you footage if you wish to see it.

First time in my life I've heard front-row forwards described as 'athletes'. But I'll listen to anything Polota-Nau has to say, because the man has an awesome 'fro'.
