@kitch. my turn to reply on behalf of Toulousain (if I may).

hmmm. we see your true colours methinks. never from the safety of simple caricature in your descriptions of the French (whom you admit you know very little about - just what you've been conditioned to think by NZ press). where did all those stereotypes come from? hate the french much?

(a team, in case you needed reminding, who together with the ABs are the only nation to have made 6 out of 7 semis in RWC history - how very inconsistent! - and who in knock-out games at RWC are 2-all with your mighty ABs - what a travesty!)

I'll stop myself there, in case you think I start sounding "undisciplined, spoilt, disobedient, selfish, always complaining, always whining..." (are any of these character traits scientifically measurable i wonder?)

dear oh dear. come on kitch. some advice. open your eyes. get through denial and anger, and you will be on the road to acceptance. face it. you've allowed yourself to be completely "played" by your own media and fear of failure that the French have become your bogey men. They have no special powers you know. Just 15 blokes who occasionally play good enough footie to scare you. Don't be scared into being a hater. Just because lots of others like safehands feel the same, doesn't make it right.

For the record, we French adore the ABs, as Toulousain has said. We just didn't like the propaganda campaign we encountered during our recent visit. It's not like we got drunk in bars, leered at hotel staff, tossed dwarves, jumped into the harbour, and crashed out in the semis. (Oooops, sorry APV1, getting blown off-piste there....).

the media here didnt have to go on a witch hunt, nor did henry or mccaw need to "influence" the media.. you guys provided them with plenty of hillarity to write about yourselves!..spitting, reducing bar staff to tears, stealing memory cards from cameras, slapping...this on top of another arrogant, petulant, childish display by another french national team.. "french rugby players laughed at the french football players last year. But in some respect, we didnt get off the bus either".. "theyre a bunch of undisciplined spoilt brats, disobedient, sometimes selfish, always complaining, always whining..."..put that together with 2 loses in pool play,clercs dives in the game against wales of which you couldnt even score a try against 14 men, and their inconsistency on the international stage... im afraid i and alot of others agree with safehands that it would have been a bit of a travesty if france had won.

having said that.. you guys did make the finals and gained some respect for finally showing us the french we know but for me it was then unfortunately tarnished some what by that gutless cowardly eye gouger... dont get me wrong here i think richard loe is in the same boat.. as is any coward who attacks the eyes

A spear tackle is named after a spear for the obvious reason of landing on a point, like the head or a similar motion, John Smit landed on his back, maybe a pancake tackle but not a spear. Also that penalty wasn't awarded for the player diving out of the lineout.. if you're going to throw out accusations, you need to get your facts straight. And speaking of respect, let's not get starting on how to respect your fellow countrymen, shall we?! You lost all respect a long time ago. Sorry bru, no conspiracy theory there.
