Well Parisse's parents are Italian and his dad played his own career in Italy, and his family's first language was Italian. I'd say that makes the guy pretty Italian in my eyes.

By your strange logic, not a single nation in the world top 10 aside from argentina is a true "rugby power" as none of them field sides of completely native players. Mad.

Mallet has certinally improved Italys consistancy but like all Italys coaches he has suffered by the lack of a class flyhalf.I find it hard to belive Italy havent produced a flyhalf in over 10 yrs.Wont be long b4 Mallet iscoaching a top club side imo

No matter what, Italy made giant steps in the last 4 years, last 6Nations they commit only 41 penalties, the most disciplined side in the tournament. A shame that mallet has to go

The only man that needs to go home is Giancarlo Dondi (FIR president) and his staff. the next president will be the future of Italy.

And if a player is born in another country, but becomes the athlete is he now is because their adoptive country. If you seat and spit blood for a national side, then you are worthy to wear that shirt and honour.

parisse is a full blooded italian, his parents moved to argentina through work. Majority of teams do not have a full 15 players born and raised from that country anymore.

Mallett's record at present is worse than his two predecessors in the job. If they've taken two steps backward to move three forward, we've yet to see the progress in terms of results. A win over Ireland on Sunday might begin to signal that improvement everyone touts. Until then, fawning over the South African seems patronizing to the Italians and their endeavours.
