Charles Piutau: Out for six to eight weeks

All Blacks utility back Charles Piutau has been ruled out of next month's Test series against England due to a knee injury.

Blues doctor Stephen Kara confirmed via the Auckland-based franchise's official website that Piutau suffered a grade two medial ligament strain to his right knee in Friday's match against the Chiefs in New Plymouth.

Piutau is currently in a brace and on crutches and is expected to be out of action for between six to eight weeks.

There were no other injuries to come out of game.

Piutau made his All Black debut last year and has played in 10 Tests. He impressed on New Zealand's end-of-year tour to the northern hemisphere and started in four of their last five Tests.
