France bound: Zac Guildford

New Zealand and Crusaders wing Zac Guildford has reportedly signed a three-year deal to move to the Top 14 with Clermont Auvergne.

The 24-year-old will move to France at the beginning of next season as a replacement for Sitiveni Sivivatu, who is joining Castres.

Guildford has won ten caps for the All Blacks, the last of which came in 2012.

With Julian Savea, Ben Smith, Charles Piutau and Cory Jane now ahead of him in the pecking order to play for New Zealand, the move for Guildford makes sense.

Guildford has had problems with alcohol in recent years and the switch to France signals a fresh start for the player from Hawke's Bay.

"It's never OK to be losing talented rugby players but Zac has to do what is best for him,'' Hawke's Bay chief executive Mike Bishop told the NZ Herald.

"He goes with our blessing. He's been a favourite son of ours for the past six or seven years.

"We would have loved to have seen him stay and play out the rest of his career with us but he's always welcome back here."
