New Zealand coach Steve Hansen has named two uncapped players in his 32-man squad for the world champions' forthcoming European tour.
Tawera Kerr-Barlow and Dane Coles are the only novices in the party for Test matches against Scotland, Italy, Wales and England.
Waikato's Kerr-Barlow takes the third scrum-half spot previously held by Andy Ellis while Coles of Wellington joins veteran hookers Keven Mealamu and Andrew Hore.
Hansen said Coles and Kerr-Barlow are "young and exciting players who have shown this year that they look more than capable of stepping up to Test match rugby."
Lock Ali Williams is back for the first time since June after a successful rehabilitation from knee surgery, while flanker Adam Thomson has also been recalled despite the imminent expiry of his New Zealand Rugby Union contract.
The All Blacks are unbeaten under Hansen.
"Tours to the northern hemisphere always bring unique challenges and this tour will be no different," he said.
"For many of the newer players in the All Blacks it will be the first time they have experienced test matches in the UK and Europe, and they are always big occasions."
All Blacks touring squad:
Forwards: Dane Coles, Andrew Hore, Keven Mealamu, Wyatt Crockett, Charlie Faumuina, Ben Franks, Owen Franks, Tony Woodcock, Brodie Retallick, Luke Romano, Ali Williams, Samuel Whitelock, Sam Cane, Richie McCaw, Liam Messam, Kieran Read, Adam Thomson, Victor Vito.
Backs: Tawera Kerr-Barlow, Aaron Smith, Piri Weepu, Beauden Barrett, Daniel Carter, Aaron Cruden, Tamati Ellison, Ma'a Nonu, Conrad Smith, Israel Dagg, Hosea Gear, Cory Jane, Ben Smith, Julian Savea.

Ironic because his mother born in NZ played for Australia and He born in Aus will play for NZ.
I'm not the old school mentality, you think of me, far from it.
I'm Australian, and from the most multicultural accepting country in the world, (I even talk to the saffas!!!) it's what makes up modren day Australia.
I don't hear people harp on here about Stephen Moore. He was Born in Saudi Arabia. Maybe if they were a rugby giant he would cop heaps.
We will stick to our Aussie greats, Russell Crowe and Crowded House !!!

I'm happy with the balance, one Aussie wanting to be a Kiwi instead of millions of kiwis wanting to be Aussies. Or Thai in your case !!!

For goodness sake try saying something sensible for a change
Yet again you have been caught out misrepresenting the truth.
You offer up a bit of an apology and then straight away start talking shyte again.
Why don't you go and have a face to face conversation with Tawera Kerr-Barlow and his Mum about all this and see how they feel.
Try doing a bit of proper research before opening your gob

@trinats! You have such the oldest school mentality..Bloody colonialism's worst traits..The Indian race owns shops all over the world (nice pies too) they are still Indian, their kids are still Indian! it is a celebrated culture and recognized yes?? Being born some where does not define your genetic make up..What if he had been born in Antarctica? or cringe Tasmania?? he he...he still has Maori genes & kiwi parents wherever he was born. Maybe you just don't have the same understanding or beliefs in your culture like some of "us" natives do? Many of us maori's can trace our ancestry back too when our people arrived in NZ...this may seem just like crap to you..but to me in lets me know where im from & who i belong too..village I know but im proud none the less

Trinats - by your logic, because I live in Thailand (and meet IRB residency requirements) you would say I am now Thai? Also met the 3yr req for Oz, and have a grandparent born there. Now I am Australian?
Change topic. Logic, reason and fact have never been your strengths,
This is a quote from TKB: "Mum and dad have always been Kiwis even though they lived up north in the [Northern] Territory"

I apologies, I have been misinformed. Apparently from a kiwi site "stuff" his mother was born in NZ.
However I find this very ironic that all the kiwis on here claiming his mother a kiwi, because she was born in NZ.
SO, does that makes Kerr-Barlow an Aussie because he was born here ??? !!!

TKB reckons he felt more in tune with the Aborigine when he was growing up than Australians
And the fella is a great trainer in the gym, very meticulous about everything he does, looking forward to seeing him get his chance, just hope he sorts that sometimes wayward pass.

Trinats - the line you copied has been run erroneously in Oz media - word for word from one incorrect and uninformed source.
Try this one - http://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/rugby/all-blacks/7879337/Mums-surprise-visit-for-new-All-Black
it would be too much to expect Oz media to let fact get in the way of a tall tale!

Re Kerr Barlows Mum
Back it up with proper evidence and prove you are not misrepresenting things yet again. Come on!

Have a bit of banter by all means but don't make up or misrepresent things.
It's basically a form of lying. Yet again!

Trinats2 says... His Mum is an Aussie !!!.
As I posted on another thread, Tawera Kerr-Barlow's mother is NZ-born and moved to Australia, later representing Australia women's rugby. She and her family are from Oparau near Kawhia which is nw of Hamilton, and in NZ he later went to Hamilton High School. His father Reimana is Hamilton-born.
Case closed, this is garbage, even from you Trinats.

@Dangerous - I've wondered that in the past about Gear - would be interesting to see.
@Trinats... lol your windups always make me chuckle... As nzmaoriboy eluded to, not all ABs fans are so precious.... however... I take it from your comment that with AUSSIE born Kerr-Barlow captaining the side in 2015 means you'll be supporting the All Blacks at the next rugby world cup then?

Rather rich of you to tell people not to get worked up about things when you yourself got rather worked up about a few posters (and not all Kiwi) having a little dig about Vunipola.
As for trinats2 he is just a wind up merchant who's been pointing the finger for years but changes his opinion when and only when it suits him

jonesy2 - I like Kahui, but he seems very injury prone. With the likes of Savea coming through the ranks, and with Jane & Gear also at the top of their game, it seems like a natural move to take advantage of his class.

Tamjon -- why? kahui will return soon.
why is everyone upset about williams getting selected, he has just returned from injury and he is a great all black lock.

Ramage - I had hopes of Craig Clarke getting selected too; for Taranaki it would have been unusual having three locks in national teams - Jarrad Hoeta and Jason Eaton were named in the NZ Maori All Black side, the three of them have put in a good season in ITM Cup.

@Dangerous, with Nonu & Smith aging, I have been wondering whether it would be worth looking at someone like Guildford at centre. But maybe a Guilford / Gear, or Guilford / Ben Smith combination, might be the way forward, not real sure.
