Free State Cheetahs fly-half Johan Goosen has been ruled fit to play in Saturday's Currie Cup clash with the Blue Bulls in Bloemfontein.
Cheetahs coach Naka Drotské confirmed that Goosen has been cleared by their medical staff and that it would not be a risk to play him.
Goosen has been sidelined since March with a knee injury and also underwent an operation to remove his appendix late last month.
But after passing fitness tests on Thursday, the Springbok will now replace Piet Lindeque on the Cheetahs' replacement bench and according to Drotské will play for about 20 minutes against the Bulls.
Drotské believes it's not a risk to play Goosen and revealed that Niel du Plessis (fitness coach) and Dr Daan du Plessis (knee specialist) cleared the 21-year-old to play.
"Dr. Daan is arguably the best knee specialist in the country who does all the rugby players' knees and Niel had him pass specific tests," he told the Volksblad website.
