@papachinzo what are you on about? As usual the ref was inconsistent pinging Boks for high tackles yet Bekker was wrestled round the neck and Hougard nearly had his ripped off and no pen was given. Also, when are refs going to learn the tackler rule. Walsh let Argies get away with killing the ball on so many occasions. The tackler has to release, then get to his feet before he can even think about going for the ball, yet argies were double tackling and 1 player was always on the ball immediately. Stupid rule as refs have to interpret this and they all get it wrong. They should simply make the rule "If youre the tackler you cant play the ball until another player plays it" That will stop all confusion.

@rorygilmore - think those positional picks are spot on, biggest issue is with the pack and I think Bakkies and Brussouw would have a major impact. Also think Mostert would help at lock and can't wait for Coenie to return. Key move would be to not only put Lambie at 10 but give him the sort of support and time that Morne has received, don't dump the kid if it doesn't work out of the box.

Where has HM been for the last 4 years? Not even the Bulls play like that anymore. (they beat the Sharks with a blend of styles on Saturday)
Poor game plan, poor selection and seemingly poor motivation.
As an example - Kirchner. Didnt have a bad game but his selection means that opponents need not fear any effective counter-attack.
I didnt believe I would miss Divvy.

@ papachinzo: What are you on about? I have no idea what your argument is... Because the one it appears to be doesn't make sense.

Lol... "Kirchner is in many ways the embodiment of the lack of creativity in the Boks backs" - thanks, couldn't have said it better myself.
However, I think you're a bit too harsh on Mvovo and Habana - they did as well as they could've under the circumstances... And Francois Steyn at least showed passion and fire to match the Argentinians, which is more than can be said for some of his team mates...
Also, if you're going to give Marcell Coetzee 4/10 you should give Potgieter 4/10 too - he did not play better than Coetzee. In fact, he made no impact whatsoever. Which I don't believe would've been the case if Kolisi was playing.
As for the replacements:
Tiaan Liebenberg forced a brilliant turnover when he came on - he deserves points. Flip vd Merwe deserves 0, because his fat @*$ made no contribution other than giving away an idiotic penalty (which is all he ever does for the Bulls as well, so no idea why he is even in the squad)...
Also Keegan Daniel was a ray of light when he came on - besides sparking a rare attack, he also forced a brilliant turnover in a maul... If you're going to give him points it should be more than 6!

To sort out Bok creativity issues: Francois Steyn @ fullback, Juan deJong @ centre, Pat Lambie @ flyhalf, Ruan Pienaar @ scrum, Heinrich Brussouw (if fit) @ the side of the scrum, Ryan Kankowski will be available from Japan in time for Perth. Locks are a bigger problem. Could be solved by bringing Bakkies Botha back to partner Eben Etsebeth. Keep Morne Steyn on the bench & use Hougaard as an impact player. Consider bringing Gio Aplon back into the wider squad.

That's what happens when you play negative kicking rugby. The AB's are going to put 50 on us unless Meyer changes his ways

I will post this on all the rating comments.
I added up the ratings for the 4 rugby championship teams from the weekend and something doesn't make sense. I added up only the starting 15s.
NZ 101, Australia 85, Pumas 105.5, and South Africa 72.
What doesn't make sense why such the massive gaps in rating's between South Africa and Argentina. Although I think SA were a bit lucky, but to such a big discrepancy does not make sense, it was a draw after all. On the other hand the gap between Aus and NZ was a lot less although on team got a 22 point thumping, and lucky it was not bigger ?? Surely the gap in ratings should have been bigger in the NZ v Aus game.

As I said before the game, SA have weakness at 15, 10 and in the loose where they have no fetcher. What I neglected to say is that there is also an absolute refusal to embrace a different gameplan. The last time the Boks came up with something different was when Kitch Cristie was coaching. Meyer was the wrong choice. It should have been Rassie / Naka Drotske who are the only coaches in SA that have shown the ability to instil a different mindset in the players.
Goosen or Lambie at flyhalf, Ludick, Lambie or Petersen at 15 and the loosies need to have Brussouw, Daniel or Kolisi (work in progress) in that order of preference as the only decent poachers in SA while Vermeulen and Alberts hold the other spots. Only other players to challenge these three are Burger and Smith depending how they shape when they finally return to fitness

Wow, way to make Argentina look like absolute amateurs! Give them high ranking's and South Africa low ranks. I'm surprised you didn't rate the referee on this either, since he was practicably wearing green too. This should have been an Argentine Victory! I suppose you'll do the same for when they face Australia...
The southern Hemisphere doesn't deserve Argentinian Rugby!!!

Feel PR is being just a tad mean with the points ,the fact is the pumas stopped the bokke playing full stop.So id give an extra point to the bokke players ,mostly for effort and not giving up ,and scraping a draw they really didnt deserve..
