@APV1

Agreed, but I was talking more about now rather than over all time.

I remember two years ago watching Parling in the premiership final and thinking, "We need to get him into an England shirt, and soon". It's a shame he then got injured for a season, otherwise he would probably already be an established international by now.

Still, I like the idea of a Parling and Lawes combo as both are mobile tackling machines.

@ruckingkiwi

To be honest, other than Brad Thorn, I feel second row is a weakness for New Zealand and Australia.

@ruckingkiwi, give them time though and they'll all catch up with England - just be patient

@ ruckingkiwi - you are absolutely right. England's players are far superior..!

I'd go Lawes and Parling but potentially we have Lawes, Botha, Attwood, Parling, Palmer, Kennedy, Day, Robson and Kitchener who are all international class locks.

really loving the Parling Botha combo with Palmer on the bench for expirience, Botha always looks a bit skinny compared to some locks but man does he hit hard so it doesnt matter, we need to get Lawes into a bit of form in the midweek team and as a Bath fan im not sure if Attwood is ready yet, but he looks like he will be the enforcer of English rugby, would be good to see someone come through in the backrow who is also an enforcer, but i dont see where that will come from, maybe carl fearns at bath?

George Robson and Dave Attwood are the two names not in the elite squad that should be, in my opinion. I hope Graham Kitchener keeps on performing in the Saxons too, as he's really just a younger version of Parling and we need that sort of lineout technician in the team. It's all well and good having two incredibly athletic players in the second row, but as we've seen, lineouts suffer without a Matfield-esque figure on the field.

Parling is like an extra flanker. I would prefer for you to send your so-called enforcers who put in bigger but fewer hits - we will absorb them easily as SA is packed full of similar players. With Parling (if he can stay injury free) you have a great player for the future with great skills. Most of the greatest locks have both great skills and can tackle (don't tell Bakkies!).

George Robson, Matt Garvey,Kearnan Myall and Ed Slater were all in last Saxons squad. Depending on next few weeks might see Robson and Slater given a go in SA.

Palmer. Parling. (Croft). Attwood. Botha. Lawes.

I'd happily have any of them in the 2nd row. My preference would be Lawes and Attwood, but it's good to have the options.

Any others out there worth considering giving a plane seat to?
