Surgeries: Tim Visser

Edinburgh and Scotland winger Tim Visser has been ruled out for around three to four months with a leg injury.

The club's top try scorer was injured in Friday's RaboDirect Pro12 win over Treviso (20-13) at Murrayfield, with an x-ray revealing he had fractured his fibula (shin).

A subsequent MRI scan conducted at the SPIRE Murrayfield Hospital yesterday (Monday) showed further damage to the his ankle ligaments, which will require consultant surgeon John McKinley to operate.

"This is really disappointing news for Tim [Visser]. We're very sorry he'll miss the November Tests," said Edinburgh head coach, Alan Solomons.

"He's an asset for Edinburgh Rugby and Scotland.

"We all wish him a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing him back scoring tries again soon."

Visser, who has scored six tries in 12 Tests for Scotland, is the second major injury in the back-three for the national side after Stuart Hogg was already ruled out of the November Internationals.
