@Scot_rsa

You are most probibly right concerning Scotlands future .But as a club Edinburgh need to be able to fight on two fronts (HCand League) and for that they need good players in depth which M.Bradley is starting to build .Otherwise scottish clubs will continue to struggle in the league ,when their internationals are away or only playing HC rugby like the Munster /Lienster star players do mostly

melkdave - you're right, a good team building. But I think for Scotland's future it will be worth seeing how Scott goes at 10 with Laidlaw at 9 for Edinburgh. We need to see if we can develop a truly world class number 10 so would rather see Laidlaw at 9. New signings in the pack are going to make the biggest difference I think, exciting times.

Well M.Blair has certinally been a stalwart for Edinburgh ,but R.Rees is a good replacment imo along with the arrival of some very promising players .M.Bradley i feel is starting to build a very good team in Edinburgh

More to the point, Blair's partnership with Laidlaw has been one of the keys to Edinburgh's style of play and success. I'll be interested to see where Laidlaw plays next season, shift back to 9 and allow Leonard or Scott to nail down the 10 shirt? Good luck to Blair though, he's been a loyal and very effective player.

Kelly Brown, Ally Hogg, Euan Murray, Dan Parks, Johnny Beattie(is on his way out i think), Nathan Hines(He's old fair enough) Sean Lamont, Simon Taylor, Hugo Southwell, Jason White. Just to name a few, I'm sure there's more that I can't think of, certainly more scottish abroad then there are Irish

@ majestic83 - I kinda understand where sextons_on_fire is coming from... if you look at the make up of your recent 6 nations squad, you had quite a few players plying their trade outside of Sctoland - Danielli (Ulster); Evans (Castres); Vernon (Sale); Strokosch (Gloucester) - to name but a few off the top of my head and I am fairly sure that there are more high profile players outside of Scotland...

compare that to the other 6 nations squads, possibly with the exception of Italy, and you will find that the other teams did not have such a high percentage playing outside their own country...with Gray and now Blair off, that is to more expats that you have to choose...maybe the comment was a bit flippant, but accusing him of being an idiot when he does have a point, is a bit harsh

@ edhutson - I don't think we need him and Claasens. If Claasens goes, then excellent idea. If not, we need a new terrier in the kennel.

could definitely do with him down at the rec, a world class 9, maybe Mark McMillan going the other way?
